Sample film poster

We decided to create a sample film poster to see how we will set up our thriller poster when we have the right images that we will include in our final poster.

We created this first one (on the left) as out first ideas. We were unsure of whether we thought this poster was entirely effective so we decided to create a second one and see what layout the target audience preffered and thought was more effective.
This poster was just our intial ideas so we thought it would be better if for our second try at the poster to have a completely different to see which on the audience preffered.

Our second poster idea was to have a image of a girl in the corner to create a isolated atmosphere. This poster has a lot more detail compared to the first one and this is why we personally prefer this sample poster. We want the audience to be confused and want to know more just from seeing the thriller poster and we think that this poster would be effective in doing that.
We then decided to ask our target audience of young adults from the age of 18-30, to look at each sample poster and the layout and see which one they prefered and why.  When we got our audience feedback results it was clear that not many people out of the 30 people we asked preferred the 1st poster with the eye through the keyhole. Most people thought the other poster was better with the little girl scared in a corner this is why we have choosen to use this layout. In our final thriller poster we will recreate this picture of the little girl in the corner with our own image from the filming that we have already done.
